Event Title

The 7th FPG Universities English Singing Video Contest

Purpose

This competition combines English singing with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It aims to encourage students from the three Formosa Plastics Group universities to develop interest in English learning and improve their English proficiency. Through this activity, students are also expected to gain awareness of the SDGs and take meaningful actions as responsible global citizens.

Eligibility

Students from the three FPG universities, including international students whose native language is not English.

Registration Period and Method

Registration is open now until Friday, October 31, 2025.

Participants must complete registration through the online registration system of Ming Chi University of Technology and submit the video link before the deadline.

Competition Rules

Participants must:

1. Record a singing video and upload it to YouTube.

2. Complete the online registration form.

3. Send the YouTube video link to:

   • Email:

The email must include:

• School name

• Participant name

• Contact phone number

Important Notice

After submission, the organizer will send a confirmation email titled “已收到參賽作品” (“Competition Entry Received”).

Song Requirements

• The song theme must be related to one of the UN SDGs.

• Participants may choose their own songs or refer to the recommended SDG song list.

• Lyrics must be sung in English.

• Each team may consist of 1 to 5 participants.

When uploading the video to YouTube, please use:

Judges

Three professionals in music and English teaching will be invited by Ming Chi University of Technology to serve as judges.

Scoring Criteria

Performance Time

• Each group may perform only one song.

• Songs longer than 6 minutes will receive point deductions.

Awards

Note: The organizer reserves the right to adjust the number of awards depending on the final number of participants.

Important Notes

• Participants must provide accurate registration information. Impersonation or violation of eligibility rules will result in disqualification.

• To ensure fairness, participants must not reveal their school names during the video and may not wear school uniforms or clothing with school logos.
